As far as music goes, there is no genre that is as big a business in former Yugoslavia as Turbofolk. Yet, even if you ignore commercialisation, it is a genre that has more than just one dark side to it. One just has to look beyond the glamor – as I attempt to do in my very first vlog.

Sorry to put it to you like that – there is no such thing as Turbofolk without ideology.

It doesn’t matter if you look at Ceca or at Jelena Karleuša. In the end it amounts to pretty much the same thing.

As this is my very first vlog, a lot of stuff still looks a bit crude. And that’s because it is.

It’s gonna take some time to get familiar with my equipment and the software. I can only ask you to be patient – and to hopefully share your thoughts on this controversial topic.
